VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Before You Go:
PASSPORT AND VISAS
Proof of citizenship or a passport will be required for your travel. Some destinations will require a TOURIST VISA that needs to be processed and approved in advance. Some others require the purchase of a tourist card upon arrival. Please check with your destination's consulate to find out what documents they require and what is the process and cost involved for it.
BAGGAGE
Most carriers allow 2 pieces of checked baggage per person plus 1 piece of carry-on which must fit under your seat or
in the overhead compartment. Airlines charge an extra fee for overweight and extra bags. Please check with your airline in advance.
RECONFIRM YOUR FLIGHT
You must confirm your flight schedule with the airline no later than
72 hours prior to your departure. Airlines can change a flight schedule or cancel a flight. Failure to reconfirm could result in the cancellation of your reservation.
AIRPORT CHECK IN
Check-in for your flight should be no later than 3 hours before departure. Be safe. Check-in early. Please note this is very important as some airlines will not honor your reservation if you are late checking-in. Late arrivals are listed as stand-by passengers.
NEW CARRY-ON POLICY
In the light of recent events, there is a new policy in effect regarding prohibited items on an airplane. Read the press release from the Department of Homeland Security
DEPARTURE TAX
Please be aware that in most destinations travellers will have to pay
in cash a departure tax in US Dollars or local currency when departing your destination. Plan to have at least $50 in cash per passenger when you check in for your return flight.
Please reconfirm flight schedule times with the airline 72 HOURS BEFORE YOUR DEPARTURE.
CHECK-IN 3 HOURS BEFORE scheduled departure time.
**IMPORTANT CHANGE**
U.S. CITIZENS RETURNING FROM ANY INTERNATIONAL DESTINATION DECEMBER 31, 2006 AND AFTER:
Effective December 31, 2006, a valid passport will be required for persons of all ages returning by air or sea from any international destination. State issued birth certificates with government issued I.D. will no longer be an acceptable form of proof of citizenship.
